Smart Street
Design Futures
MA project with Intel Research
2006

Developing new ethnographicly inspired ways of gathering design intelligence for intel's People And Practices Research group (PAPR).

Collaboration with Jess Charlesworth, Chris Hand, Michiko Nitta, Johanna Sim, Susana Soares, Marei Wollersberger & Tom Wynne-Morgan

Looking at how design can be used to speculate on the future, through hypothetical proposals and scenarios, and by working closely with the people who could be most affected by those proposals.

Focused on a particular section of Gloucester Road, in the London Borough of South Kensington, to envisage it as the Smart Street of the future.

It is expected that both the methods and the results of the project will inform and influence the larger Street Smart Spaces work being carried out by Intel throughout 2006. PAPR and Intel Research were represented at the final presentation of the project, and the results of the RCA project will continue to be represented and considered during the different analysis sessions of the Street Smart Spaces work.
